Crooked Lines

Jenna Zark’s memoir, Crooked Lines, is about a single Jewish mom’s two basic problems:

  1. How to restart her life after a divorce?
  2. What Judaism really means to her?

Zark married her writing partner who turned cantor. He moved the family to the mid-west from the East coast and after thirteen years of marriage decided to end the relationship with his wife.

Jenna was now homeless with joint custody of their son. She had to pull her life together, raise her boy in the Jewish tradition, while searching for meaning in her own life.

Readers will learn a lot about Jewish traditions, tribulations of a single mom, motherhood, community, the power of rituals, and the hope for a better life—all of which are universal issues but seen through the prism of Judaism.

Zark’s writing is pure poetry that reaches out to the readers about the realities of life in the 21st century. Written from a Jewish perspective, readers of all faiths can relate to and benefit from her heartfelt memoir about her journey after a divorce.
