A Living Nightmare

book cover A Living NightmareWhen my daughter Koren was five years old, I took her to the Los Angeles Zoo with her sister, Channie (10). We were strolling through the monkey area when I noticed Koren missing. Channie and I hunted the area in a panic. I never felt so frightened in my life. Fortunately, five minutes later, we found Koren making faces at a chimp.

The agony I briefly experienced was nothing compared to Megan’s anguish. On that fateful day, she picks her son up at school. But Daniel isn’t there. She tours the campus only to discover his father, Greg, picked the boy up earlier. Megan’s ex-husband was not happy with the divorce, but Megan suffocated from the man’s obsessive and controlling nature. Now he had Daniel and she wouldn’t hear from her son for six years.

Nicole Trope writes a present tense emotional novel about the loss of a child and its impact on his family and mother. The book is written in Megan’s point of view and also from Daniel’s perspective covering the six years the child was lost to his mum and the short period after the boy’s return home.

Prepare yourself for an emotional roller coaster ride as you travel the pages of The Boy in the Photo seeing how Megan and Daniel deal with their separation. The actions Greg takes will only stir up feelings of disgust and loathing. The novel is a heartbreaking, emotional drama about a family in distress and how the tragedy was handled.

P.S. Don’t read The Boy in the Photo without a box of tissues nearby.
