The Kidnapping of a King

Jon Tor is off world when he suddenly becomes aware that his sentient planet, Tyrea, is under attack. Then he’s kidnapped, but his abductors’ spacecraft crash lands on a prison colony, where the staff is told the stricken Jon is a criminal headed for justice. That is where Jon meets Dr. Alexis Michaels who quickly figures out Jon’s innocence and helps him escape and find his way back to Tyrea to stop the insurrection.

Author Jane McKay’s vivid imagination creates a believable world with a royal family tied to it since colonization.  She develops memorable characters—both sinister and kind—causing readers to applaud for the good guys.

A King Ascends is a fast-paced science fiction novel showing the depth and breath of man’s survival instincts and the need we all have in our friendships. It is those relationships that create an atmosphere of success when there’s an overwhelming blanket of despair. Hope is the ingredient that makes miracles possible.

I look forward to the publications of the other two books in the Tyrea Trilogy.
