A Spine-Tingling Thriller
The Davis boys, Matthew and Jake, are identical twins with a rare gift. They have such a strong psychic connection that one can feel the emotional stresses of the other. In the opening scene, author Michael Cordell expertly shows toddler Matt experiencing great pain on his mother’s kitchen floor, but there’s no sign of trauma. Ma Davis hunts for Jake and finds him on the barn floor crying because he stepped on a nail.
Flash forward twenty-four years and we find Matt flipping burgers in a Brooklyn, New York diner. Matt hasn’t been back home to Hatchett, Nebraska for a decade in an effort to cut the link with his brother. Now a searing pain like never experienced envelopes him. When the seizure passes, Matt knows Jake is dead.
Matt is compelled to return to Hatchett to mourn his brother’s death and to find out how Jake died. As it turned out, his brother was a meth dealer and was shot in the head. Unfortunately, for Matt, the connection to Jake intensifies as he suffers the agony of his twin’s afterlife. This is noticed by a demon who sees a way into the real world through Matt so he can bring hell on Earth.
To add to his troubles, Matt realizes that if he falls asleep his body will be taken over by the Devil. Helping him is his old girlfriend, Claire, from high school. She has a litany of complaints about her former beau first and foremost being abandoned. But she puts this aside to help an old friend and to help Matt find peace.
Amazon best seller, Michael Cordell brings us a supernatural thriller, Our Trespasses: A Paranormal Thriller that is impossible to put down. The character development is wonderful as we slowly learn Matt’s true reasons for leaving home. The settings are well described and the plot will keep you breathless.
