The Ides of Trump: Send President Trump His Pink Slip
March 15, 2017 is the day you can send a pink slip to President Donald Trump letting him know how displeased you are with his administration.
On the Ides of Trump boycotters, protesters, petition signers, and citizens can show the president his actions in the White House have been embarrassing, amateurish, and irresponsible.
President Trump wasn’t in office longer than a heart beat before he stomped on the pride and self-esteem of two of America’s closest allies—Mexico and Australia.
According to Jude Webber in the Financial Times, “If Mexico won’t bend to Trump’s demands and he withdraws the U.S. from the treaty [NAFTA], the effect on both nations’ economies would be devastating.” Can you blame Mexico’s outrage? Would you pay for a wall around your yard a neighbor built?
On February 2, 2017 CNN reported a heated exchange between Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and President Donald Trump. Trump objected to an agreement over the U.S receiving Syrian refugees that were agreed upon by the Obama Administration. Trump’s diplomacy skills were beamed worldwide as he abruptly ended the call because he didn’t like where the conversation was headed. It seems as if our new president lives by this philosophy: It’s my way or the highway.
The president’s travel ban on visitors and immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries triggered a firestorm that could have been avoided. The National Review.com, a conservative publication, understands the security risks with Islamic terrorists, so the order makes sense to “evaluate and strengthen” America’s vetting process. It was the implementation of the ban that was tragic.
President Trump and his administration should have talked to lawyers familiar with travel bans, gone through appropriate federal agencies, warn border control agents, and send out information to the respective countries. This would have avoided the ugly detentions witnessed on our TV screens, public outrage, and protests.
President Trump has not been in office for a month, yet people around the globe are frightened. A Canadian friend recently wrote in an email, “We’re afraid he’s [Trump] going to start a war. I’m not even sure if I’d cross the border because of the state of unrest.” Is this how we want our dearest neighbors to feel?
Leaks from the White House reported by The Washington Post have aides portraying the new president as undisciplined, easily bored, obsessively monitors cable TV for positive signs of his popularity, and searches for threats to his ego. When Fox’s Bill O’Reilly reported on Chicago’s gang gun violence and suggested, “send in the Feds,” minutes later Trump tweeted, “If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible ‘carnage’ going on . . . I will send in the Feds!” Do we really want our president to make major policy decisions willy-nilly just from viewing a TV show?
At a record pace President Trump is destroying America’s credibility on the world stage. Is this what we want and expect from our Commander-In-Chief?
Show your outrage on the Ides of Trump. This March 15, 2017 send President Trump his pink slip and mail your postcards to:
The President (for now)

I heard on the news that a Congressman submitted a bill to require President Trump to have a mental evaluation.
Postcard day is March 15, right? (Towards the end it says March 17.) Thanks!
