A Vampire Detective Story
The Foster triplets were relocated to different foster homes right after being born to a powerful witch. Their mother, Patricia Foster, thought it imperative for their safety to hide Derek, Gavin, and Simone from her enemies. Now young adults on their own, the trio are called from their Chicago jobs—vanquishing vampires—to attend their mother’s funeral.
It seems as if the witch of Bordon Point died in a “freak” accident. Author Christian Green writes, “Zoe, a female lion visiting with the local circus somehow escaped her cage and roamed around the streets of New Orleans for over an hour, and it was Patricia that became Zoe’s lone victim.”
Derek, Gavin, and Simone plan to leave town after the funeral, but Reverend Elijah Love wants to speak to them. It’s at Sally’s Restaurant where the triplets become suspicious about their mother’s untimely death.
Christian Green does a tremendous job reeling in the interest of his readers in a detective story that reveals a small Louisiana town and its very unusual inhabitants.
Will Derek, Gavin, and Simone’s experiences fighting vampires in Chicago help them in uncovering the culprit behind their mother’s death? And will their actions destroy Bordon Point’s fragile truce?
The Blood in their Veins is a 98-page fun read novella. The characterization and plot development carries the story nicely, however, I felt the author needs to pay closer attention to describing the sets in which the characters act.

Sounds like a great story. I really don’t see why there needs to be vampires involved; seems like a perfectly good story without them.
