Murder on the Seine

Corporate trainer and amateur sleuth, Lysi Weston is on the road again with best friend Grace Wright. This time the duo are in Paris, France where they are assigned the task of presenting a model of their management training seminar to the American Chamber of Commerce in France in hopes of educating chauvinistic Francophiles on how to eliminate sexual harassment in their corporations.

Meanwhile, Lysi has combined her work assignment with a bit of romance by inviting fiancé Maynard Christie for a Paris rendezvous.Christie is an Aussie police detective.

Not off the plane from San Francisco more than a few hours, Lysi gets a phone call from Inspecteur Noirot from the Police Judiciaire de Paris. The detective found Lysi’s business card on the body of a dead woman murdered and tossed into the Seine River. Lysi is Noirot’s prime suspect.

Due to Noirot’s bumbling ineptness, Lysi is drawn into the murder of Monique Riveron, a woman she met on her flight to Paris from California. Lysi’s investigative skills take her into Monique’s intimate life as she searches for clues to uncover the young woman’s killer.

Author Nancy Curteman takes her readers through the streets of Paris and the Basque Country in the Pyrenees near Spain. Her descriptive skills are excellent giving the reader the feeling of actually being there.

Murder on the Seine is one of six Lysi Weston murder mysteries and like its companion books, is a riveting thriller that will keep readers engaged from beginning to end. This novel has plenty of red herrings to keep readers guessing, “Who killed Monique Riveron?” The climax is a dramatic surprise.
