Time Travelers Beware!
Legend of the Timekeepers
Time travelers beware! There is a Timekeeper and she has the power to protect the time stream from evil intent. Thus is the premise of Sharon Ledwith’s entertaining novel, Legend of the Timekeepers.
Ledwith’s protagonist, Lilith, has recently been evacuated from her native Atlantis due to earthquakes and tsunamis that destroyed her beloved home. Her father, Segund, the keeper of the Seventh Arch of Atlantis, and other Atlanteans take refuge throughout the known world. Segund and Lilith settle in the Black Land, which we know today to be Ancient Egypt.
Like any teen uprooted from her home, Lilith feels disconnected with the people in her adopted country. She has also reached the age where her destiny must be realized. Istulo, the high priestess in the Temple Beautiful imprinted the job of Timekeeper on Lilith’s life seal.
Other young people Lilith encounters include Tau, a future scribe, Mica, a handsome young flutist and potential mortal enemy, and She-Aba, a fashion designer and new best friend.
Together, this foursome are drawn into Segund’s Seventh Arch of Atlantis to keep the time stream pure and protect the destiny of Atlantis and their adopted homeland.
Ledwith’s narrative draws readers into her novel quickly holding their attention with descriptive scenes, entertaining dialogue, and plenty of action. This is one book fans of time travel stories won’t want to miss.
Sharon Ledwith, a Canadian author, focuses her writing talent toward YA/middle-grade books. Her work includes The Terrible, Mighty Crystal and The Last Timekeepers and the Arch of Atlantis. When Ledwith is not researching her most recent project or writing, this Central Ontario writer enjoys yoga, kayaking, and plenty of time with her family and friends.
