While touring the festival, make sure you stop off at table B591. Emma Price, representing ELP BOOKS and Michael Thal, representing Paper Angel Press, will be there for most of the event. Other Paper Angel Press authors scheduled are Claudia Sternbach, author of Dear Goldie Hawn, Dear Leonard Cohen, and Marlene Bumgarner, author of Back to the Land in Silicon Valley, and Mary Flodin, author of Fruit of the Devil. All authors will be happy to sign their books for you.
ELP BOOKS presents incredible children’s books penned by Emma Price that deal with adversity children and teens confront in 21st century America. A great example is Another Girl Calls My Dad, Daddy. Paper Angel Press publishes a potpourri of adult fiction including The Lip Reader and Building Baby Brother. Michael Thal will also have available his YA books including the Koolura Series, Goodbye, Tchaikovsky, and The Abduction of Joshua Bloom.
With so many bookstores closed or out of business, finding a book that you can hold are becoming extinct like vinyl records. The Festival of Books is a wonderful throw-back to the 20th century where you can browse thousands of books and pick a dozen or so to last you until next year. And while you are there, drop by Table B591 to say hi to Emma and Michael. They will sign their books for you.
I really liked the LA Times Festival of Books when it was at UCLA and I could go there on my bike.
