New Mystery/Love Story
Lily saw her sister Sara’s ghost in the “chipped Arborite counter of Higgstown Diner,” a “stool that swiveled just a little too much to the right,” and the memories of a lovely older sister who wore a little bit too much blue eye shadow.
The two sisters worked their mother’s diner for more than 25 years, since Lily was seven. Now Sara was gone—a victim of a senseless killing, which Sheriff Royce Wilkins presumes Lily as his prime suspect.
And why not? The sisters’ father left his millions to his older daughter, leaving Lily penniless. After Sara’s death, Lily became the richest citizen of Higgstown. The only problem the Sheriff has is circumstantial evidence and a desire to close the case before he retires.
Then one evening a burglar enters Lily’s small Maine diner. Fortunately, a good- Samaritan rescues her, P.I. Aiden O’Rourke. Could he be the man Lily has always wanted or is he a harbinger of more trouble?
Thus begins author Jeanne Bannon’s newest YA novel, Nowhere to Run. It’s a mystery love story that knits together surprising curves that will keep readers guessing, “Who was Sara’s murder?” until the thrilling confession near the book’s dramatic ending.
As readers experience Lily’s adversities, the author injects a soothing faith that will uplift any heart deflated by the recent loss of a loved one.
If you are 16-96 you are bound to enjoy this superb ebook.
